Pretty bitter for a barleywine. Smooth carbonation, lacey head.

โPours a slight Mahoganyโ. Looks more like a stout without the body. Definitely the sweetness of a barleywine though.

Lots of rich malts with a candy sweetness. Bitter and Leathery. Solid brew.

Pretty good. Not quite as memorable as I remembered it many years ago, but still worthy.

Unusual: standard roasted malt, molasses, and port flavors open then shifts into a lot of green hop and prune. Not syrupy, no anise or root beer. Curious. Like a black and tan but b-wine & ipa. Kind of growing on me.
