Pleasantly unsweet compared to many barleywines. Lots of malt and bitter notes. I almost get oaky barrel notes.

Not a typo barleywine. Not as sweet as was expecting has lots of bitterness giving it more of a juniper taste

I was excited to see them bring this back. I haven't had this since I was at the brewery in 2010. Sadly, they over hopped this batch. It's not the same... Too bitter. Damn it! π€¬π€¬

One of the tastiest barley wines I've had in a long time. Very good balance of bitterness and sweetness.

Caramel on the nose. Smoothish mouthfeel. Nicely balanced hops and malt. Caramel on the back and finish.

Taste like 120 minute ipa. Which is not a barleywine but great! Also not really an ipa so

I have a feeling this was a ground-breaking brew when it was first brewed over 10 years ago. I still appreciate it for testing flavor profiles without adjuncts.

Very interesting. Smoother than most barley wines but still has the big malt punch. Not as sweet and boozy as many of them are. Bitter hops almost finished like an IPA.

I enjoy a dark hoppy beer, bit this comes across as medicinal. Tolerable, but it would be a lot nicer (maybe 4 stars) with other hops.
