Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter

Brown Ale - American

They don't make 'em like they used to... or do they? The bottle shop series is a tribute to the folks who supported ragtag brewer's across the country when craft beer was in its infancy. when beer enthusiasts sought out innovation through big flavor, in your face complexity and revered quality above all else. This series is for you: the distinguished beer connoisseur still seeking the revolution that energized the industry we know today -- that settles for nothing less then the very best!

Was not expecting to like this. Other than being a little boozy, the flavors are mild, but blend well.

I definitely get the old fashioned vibe with the taste and smell, but leaves a little to be desired

One of the more unique barrel aged brews I've had in a while. Bourbon notes compliment the cirrusy notes quite well. Sweet but not too rich

Bourbon on the nose…wooozers. The taste supports the nose greatly. The taste is truly bourbon barrel-aged to the T. Fuck, they made it smooth over boozy. Founders are just the upmost professionals in the BIZ.

This is really delicious and different. There is a smooth, cocktail booziness to it. There's definitely some caramel and vanilla present. It's not sweet though like a dessert. The orange peel flavor is subtle and there's a hint of stone fruit. Fantastic!

Really grew on me. Instant comp is root or birch beer. But dig a little deeper and find a refreshing complexity seldom attempted, let alone pulled off, anymore. A+ for originality

A cherry beginning with a chocolate orange finish. Another amazing beer from Founders.

This is very good as a cocktail beer. Some sips are fresh cherry, orange and bitters with a solid bourbon base. Others are malty caramel base beer. This might be the freshest cocktail taste I have had in a beer.

Hits on the “Old Fashioned” profile well. Boozy. Wish there was more malt character though. I enjoy beers that borrow flavors from great cocktails, but I like them to still have an underlying beer profile. Otherwise, I’ll just mix a cocktail.
