Frootwood

Fruit Beer

We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long.

Heavy oak flavor. Thinner bodied than I remember. Good, not spectacular.

Cherry flavored Red Ale. It’s barrel-aged and not too tart. 6% ABV. Going down to the Smiling Moose for Reverend Raven soon!

Early cherry note then oak, finishing sweet with just a touch of tart. Very smooth, not bitter or heavy. Would absolutely have again.

First sip of booze in about 2 months. Had to go with something GF. Still, pretty good.

I read Founders' description to have a better grasp on what I was drinking. I have to say, the name makes a lot more sense now. The name is literally the description of the flavor. This review could've easily just said Frootwood and meant the same thing

This was delightful. The cherry is so smooth with the sweet maple syrup and a hint of the bourbon. Even the bottle looks sick!

Fruity. Very non-beer like. Getting a lot of woody notes tonight. Drink warm.

Cherry very upfront. Not overly sweet or boozy. Happy birthday to me 🎂
