Frootwood

Fruit Beer

We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long.

Kind of turning on this one. Almost like a spiced cider than a beer. Mild and tasty. Low carb.

Excellent. Cherry really brings all the other flavor together.

There's cherry, a hunt of bourbon, and the maple finish is awesome.

Lots of maple flavor and a little cherry flavor. Very interesting

With the maple barrel I was worried it might be syrupy, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was not cloyingly sweet. The cherries were also not over powering.

I love cherries and this beer definitely has the cherry flavor... I could drink them all day. One of my favourite dessert beers!

This might be my all-time favorite beer from Founders. I always look forward to this pour when I have some. Perfect afternoon for for a beautiful Sunday. Cheers to what’s left of the weekend

Full of flavor and carbonation! Love the cherry, maple syrup, and bourbon flavors! The barrel aging is genius. Strong at 8%. Awesome job you guys from Grand Rapids, Michigan!

When you want to try something different, this is a real good one to try. Nice cherry w/a little maple favor.

This is exceptional. Sweet but warming. Not heavy of bourbon or maple syrup, but there's definitely a nice blend.

Oh my god that is fucking awful!! Cherry ale? Tastes like someone diluted some syrup with a really sweet bourbon and then maybe thought about putting a cherry on top to mask the ridiculously awful sweetness. Shit, I still have three from the 4-pack.

Bottled 09nov2021. Smooth, clean cherry taste with hints of bourbon and maple in the background. Subtle tartness. Easy to drink.
