A bit too sweet for me. Hides the abv very well. Could be dangerous. Very smooth.

Strong BA taste in a black ale. Sweet but not overly so.

Boozy and biscuity. One can really taste the bourbon barrel.

Maybe a chocolatey character I wouldn’t expect for an old ale, but I like it. Really nice beer regardless of what you call the base style.

Thick for an ale, not as a thick stout. The maple is very light. There is some kind of interesting ginger or peppery thing going on in the first swallow. Very nice ❗.

Sweet, not a ton of barrel coming through. Very good.

Didn’t have the non barrel aged version, but I do t get a lot of biscuit or breast flavor. The sweetness of the bourbon is pretty prevalent.
