Would absolutely drink with breakfast. While the smell is slightly musty, the creamy start, coffee-prominent middle, and bitter, toasty end make this a reliable coffee stout. Glad I revisited this classic after many years!

Nice dark color in the glass, and immediately I taste toasty malt, sweetness, coffee, and a slightly bitter finish. There’s alcohol, but not too much. Overall, very well balanced, and very tasty.

9/23 date. Bitter, roasty dark coffee, dark chocolate, cranberry/dark fruit. Still a little hot but great beer as always.

Bang on for a breakfast stout - in my view the only thing they could add to improve it is a subtle hint of spirit / whisky
