Malty aroma of caramel, toffee, light smoke. Hops show up in the taste, but still very dominated by malt. Light roast, bready, balanced & well made. Definitely prefer Backwoods Bastard, but the base is a very solid beer.

Full flavor dark ale. Best drank alone. I find when I drink it with food it has slight sage brush after taste.

On the 10th day of Beer-mas... This one is rich, malty, and flavorful. Very good.

Een lekkere Amerikaanse bastaard. Scotch style ale, goed te vergelijken met een dubbel. Een fijne smaak met een dropperige afdronk.

One of the best. A pinnacle of the style. High abv almost masked by deliciousness.
