Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2023) Montesano III
Rich sweet umami aroma of roast, coffee, maple syrup, oak, char, caramel, dark chocolate, brown sugar, bourbon. Creamy medium-high body. Sweet mocha bomb w/ nice light roast bitterness. Not sure why I like this more than 2019, but super delicious!

The Headless Gourdsman Montesano III
Sweet malty aroma of brown sugar, molasses, maple, cinnamon, vanilla, oak, coconut, nutmeg. Creamy medium-full body. Sticky sweet. Lots of bourbon & maple, pumpkin spice hit on finish. Malty old ale style base. Sadly not brewed with pumpkin, but I like it

Sweet malty aroma of toffee, toasted coconut, caramel, maraschino Cherry, light candied pineapple. Creamy medium-high body. Very light bourbon & maple barrel. Sweet & boozy. Light resinous hop bite. Aroma is amazing, but palate is a slight letdown.

French Toast Bastard Montesano III
Awesome rich malty aroma of bourbon, oak, spot on maple covered buttered French toast, cinnamon, vanilla ice cream, caramel, molasses, bbq chip seasoning. Creamy medium body. Bourbon barrel muted by strong adjuncts. Smooth & sweet. A fun & tasty variant!

Ultimate Oktoberfest Montesano III
Malt heavy aroma of molasses, bourbon, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, light coconut. Tastes like a slightly more carbonated old ale. Sweet malt bomb with touch of barrel & bourbon. Smooth for abv. I’d still prefer a Backwoods Bastard, but fun & tasty!

4 Giants Hazy IPA Montesano III
Pundgent juicy citrus aroma of tangerine, pineapple, starburst, guava, bubblegum, very tropical. Lightly crisp medium-light body. Lots of pithy citrus, light pine. Dry finish. Very drinkable, just lacking impact & mouthfeel. Would rather drink the O.G.

Resinous West coast aroma of caramel malt, classic C hops, grapefruit, peach, just dialed down a bit. Smooth medium body. Nice bite of bitterness throughout. Tons of citrus marmalade & piney hops balanced by substantial malt backbone. Classic Imperial IPA

Where the Wild Hops Are Montesano III
Floral, dank resinous aroma of citrus pith, menthol, coconut, pine, stone fruit. Crisp medium body. Light tropical notes. Barely noticeable tartness, dry finish w/ a touch of oak. Balanced, just not giving me anything special to get excited about

Light Floral, grassy, citrus aroma. Medium creamy body. Tastes like All Day with a softer mouthfeel. Piney resinous hops w/ a touch of orange juice. Smooth & refreshing. On par with the OG, a solid go-to summer crusher.

Malty aroma of caramel, toffee, light smoke. Hops show up in the taste, but still very dominated by malt. Light roast, bready, balanced & well made. Definitely prefer Backwoods Bastard, but the base is a very solid beer.

World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged Montesano III
Rich bourbon, caramel, coconut, oak aroma. Thick, roasted malt, tons of molasses, dark fruit, lots of oak, smooth for abv. Reminds me of some BCBS. Ticks all the Bourbon Barrel Aged Stouts for me!

Coffee, sweet maple caramel aroma. Smooth. Lots of coffee and roast. Medium mouthfeel. Light bourbon. Reminds of CBS just lighter and more affordable. Balanced sweetness and bitterness. A bigger body would make this perfect, but a very nice BBA porter.

Backwoods Bastard (2020) Montesano III
Sweet bourbon, vanilla, coconut, caramel, dark fruit aroma. Medium-large mouthfeel. Balanced bourbon throughout with a drying oak on finish. Fig, raisin, cherry. Molasses, brown sugar. Light roast. Alcohol barely noticeable. Still a wonderful beer ☘️ .

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020) Montesano III
I’ve learned to warm this one up quite a bit to let the flavors be more expressive. Tons of chocolate and coffee on nose and much more bourbon warming/ flavor. Body definitely thinner than desired. Palate sadly enjoys this less this year, still delicious.
