wow. caramelly nose. beautiful malt profile, meaty, smokey, peaty, umami. as it warms the smokey end note is more prominent. not overly sweet.

Had this years ago and decided to give it a try again. Such an underrated beer! It's strong and very flavorful.

Smaakt als een bitter met whiskey. De rook zit er iets te subtiel in. Gewoon heel erg lekker in de zomer, maar ik kan me voorstellen dat het in de winter of na meer biertjes -ondanks de booze- niet “explosief” genoeg is. Perfecte prijs-kwaliteit verhoudin

A delicious scotch ale with a smooth mouth feel. Initially bitter with a mildly sweet and caramelly finish, a great companion to a hearty dinner, a board game, or a fire. My go to dark beer!

One of my favorite Founders brews and its very easy to knock out 12 ounces....... good thing I didn't have a half dozen, can you spell inebriation and hangover? I can't spell, oh well.
