Stout - Imperial / Double Coffee

This beer taught us that patience truly is a virtue. KBS is a big imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolate and then bourbon barrel-aged to perfection. Incredibly silky and full-bodied with notes of vanilla, cocoa, roasted coffee and charred oak.

Awesome to try this... doesn't quite live up to expectations but it's really smooth, tiny bit of bourbon detected and a nice texture - just not totally wowing me

It's probably been 7 years since I had this. Relatively thin body compared to modern stouts. Plenty of coffee and cocoa. A bit of bourbon on the finish. Semi-sweet finish. Pretty old-school still, but very solid.
