Hard to fault this roasty, robust, slightly bitter porter. I’d take an eddy fitz over this but the margin isn’t wide.

This has all the components of a porter in my mind, roasted malts, but not overly, coffee notes but doesn't taste like coffee. Rich and decadent. Should pair nicely with a burger,steak or anything charred or fried.

smells chocolatey with a slight sweetness to it. tastes bitter, dark chocolate, hazelnut, little bit of dark cherry. heavy mouth feel. strong flavor.

It IS dark, rich and sexy. The velvety chocolate finish is wonderful in my mouth.

I would almost say this is a perfect benchmark for what a porter ought to be. Is not my favorite style, but definitely recognized. Oaky, bitter, roasty.

Free beer always tastes better, smooth somewhat airy and just feels like the appropriate winter beverage
