Rich malt with notes of toffee, sweet but smooth. Very forward bitter finish.

Haven’t had this in years and I don’t think my palate was ready for it then. Cold: Nose is dark fruit/grape and hints of wood/bourbon. Flavor is very malty and woody with a boozy bite. Warm: malt comes in more and booze dials down. Woody flavor stays too.

I can’t say I am that excited about this. It has s Some good character, but the booziness is lacking. In fact, I don’t think the barrel it was aged in was a particularly good bourbon. But I have three left, so I will trudge on.

I'm off tomorrow, so I'm gonna enjoy my evening! I've got 'The Circle' going and I cracked open Backwoods Bastard. It's definitely a woodsy heavy. Oak bomb. Warms going down. The oaky flavor coats your mouth. Not sweet. Name checks out!

The beer has a woody aroma. The flavours are sweet, woody, chocolate and slightly boozy in the aftertaste. The beer has a alcohol percentage of 11%.

2018 version. Heavy whisky flava. malty, sweet, fig and caramel flava also. A very big drinker!

Yep, smokey, sweet, smooth. Very nice for a wee heavy. This hides its weight well, soooo drinkable! Presidential bump.

I think this is a different batch. Smoother and fuller in flavour than last month - i.e. just as freakin’ amazing as I remember.

I like this one (Founders-wise). Wee Strong that pours deep-dark brown with purple highlights. Nose is malty sweet. Palate is caramel and roasted malt sweetness bathed in a bourbon, oak booziness. Some black plum in background. Delicious. 11% ABV.
