The Mandala Effect

Stout - Imperial / Double

This dense, fudgy stout was brewed with a blend of roasted malts and aged in Let’s Get Lost Whiskey barrels from our distillery. After a year-long slumber we brought it to one of our aging tanks and added whole Madagascar vanilla beans and a curated blend of chai spices – Baraka Cardamom, Makhir Ginger, Hariyali Fennel, Peni Miris Cinnamon, Aranya Black Pepper, Kandyan Cloves – from our friends at Diaspora spice company. The result is a rich expression of whiskey, vanilla and spices for the perfect nightcap.

Deep, strong and brewed for sipping. Distinct vanilla, spices and whiskey notes. Sweet forward yet slighly bitter finish.

I get notes of vanilla and chocolate upfront with the chai spice notes and whiskey flavors hitting me on the backend.

The Mandala Effect: The phenomenon where people collectively misremember events, historical facts & other famous pop culture moments. Named for late South African president Nelson Mandela who was thought to have died in prison in the 1980s. LCI…I think.

Dark dark roasted malts. Strong vanilla. Strong chai tea. Fantastic lacing. Extremely clean and well done, buttoned up, beer. You could drink this and not get sick of it. Whiskey. The whiskey lingers. For 12%, very drinkable. Thanks to the chai, I think.

Just as good in a crowler. Hands down the best beer of the beer tasting/beer exchange with my neighbor last night.
