IPA - Black / Cascadian Dark Ale

A real blast from the recent past, this black IPA is sure to conjure memories from the mid-Aughts. With its balance of West Coast piney and citrusy hops with just a hint of roast, this style was THE thing…until it wasn’t. We reprise it here with layers of Simcoe, Citra and Comet hops and judicious use of Black Rye & Midnight Wheat malts to deliver the darkness.

Very light, good aroma, should have had it before the Palo Santo to give it a fair shake.... Mia Culpa

Best beer of the day. Brings me back to the mid 2000s. West coast piney and citrusy hops that have been charred black. Simcoe. Citra. Comet. Black rye and midnight wheat malts. Dunkels aren't IPAs. Black IPAs are rare. Love love love this. What a treat.
