I guess Esquire magazine does not get out much. It does have a malt backbone and if you like a malt forward beer it’s great. Another type of imperial ipa is a hop forward ipa. My preference is a hop forward ipa like Hop Venom or Sticky Hands. Just saying

Been a minute (😎) since I had this bad boy. Gotta be the OG of imperial IPA’s. Still holds up to this day. Malty/hoppy behemoth!

Haven’t had this for a few years, bought a 6 pack. It tastes different than I remember. Still good though, a bit more malty than I remember.
