2012; straight up barleywine now. Smells strong, flavor is subdued. Mostly caramel, hints of raisin

Continually hopped over a 120 minute boil w/copius amount of high-alpha American hops (whatever that means) & then dry-hopped for over a month. Apparently, you could age this for up to 10ys if you have the discipline.

Bottled 2018! Last one needed to warm up after passing out candy

Major alcohol warmth with nice hoppiness. The bite from the bitters is lower than anticipated because of the extremely high gravity. Very smooth and dangerous. One and done.

So it tastes really, really good. It's too fucking strong, though. Too, too strong.

The boozy sweetness cuts through the bitterness in a really pleasant way.

It's boozy but then again it's not. Nice fruitiness holds it together well

Apricots and raisins. That's what you taste. Oh, so tasty! This truly is a good beer! So different. The girlfriend just looked at me and said, "This is not an IPA." Indeed it is! And a good one, at that.
