Midas Touch

Historical Beer - Other

This sweet yet dry beer is made with ingredients found in 2,700-year-old drinking vessels from the tomb of King Midas. Somewhere between beer, wine and mead, Midas will please the chardonnay and beer drinker alike.

Fantastic! And even better knowing the story in Smithsonian magazine from July August 2011 . I'm guessing it was King Midas favorite given it was in large quantity in his tomb

A cross between mead and wine. Uncharted waters for me.

Clear honey color w/ steady white head & lacing. Honey-n-saffron nose & taste; add white-wine flavor over a barley base. Dry finish. One of the most interesting beers I have tasted.

My aunt can not stand hops and the flavor of an IPA. She drank this all night. The nutty finish compliments the bitter hope and orange citrus.

A little sour, weird carbonation, and honey

Delicious. Wonder if this is the same stuff the Sumerians served the Annunaki? 🤣👽

Not doin much for me. Good and crisp. Tastes more of a mead than wine. Sweet, but dry finish. Shoulda died with the egyptians

Lovely. Sweet, crisp, kind of an unassuming mead. 9% so watch out! That'll catcha ya!

Sweet yet dry is accurate. Better than most meads and some beers, and surprisingly satisfies the chardonnay hater in me so it’s got that going for it, even if it’s not the best

Picked up on grape on first sip. This beer brings back some memories for me. The first time I had it was a few years back when my brother and I stopped at the pub in Rehobeth. We had just delivered desks that we hand made for the Dogfish Inn!

Wonderful soft and smooth wanting to be sweet but semi-sweet, plain good, not boozy.

Interesting. Lively notes of honey, a wee sour note, sweet Muscat grapes and a lively yellow grape aroma, a Barley Winesque, very elegant floral finish. This was brewed in 2014 and stands the test of time.
