Burton Baton (2008)

IPA - Imperial / Double

An oak-aged, gentle giant which has been gaining popularity over the past few years and is now available year-round. Two "threads," or batches, of beer — an English-style old ale and an imperial IPA — are brewed and, after separate fermentation in stainless tanks, are transferred and blended together in large oak tanks. Burton Baton sits on the wood for about a month. When enjoying the Burton Baton, you'll find an awesome blend of the citrus notes from Northwestern hops melding with woody, vanilla notes from the oak.

I would love to back-to-back this with a fresh one, to see what 13 fricken years in a bottle does to a beer. All I know right now is "I can haz moar?"

Anyways loved this beer fresh. There was I time in my life I thought this might be a good idea though... Totally melded into fairly sweet malt juice, goes down easy though

Red Cap. Malty bomb. Boozy on the very end. Nice experiment but better fresh to 5 years old. 11 years+ pushed it.
