Very tasty, a bit less sweet and slightly edgier flavors than the bourbon barrel aged version. But this is also newer. Will be interesting to try again in a couple years. Has a bit of a brandy-like flavor to me, but that might just be me.Excellent overall

Hot enough to burn my nostrils. I prefer the vanilla oak aged but this is still good. Heater. Cooking wine

N: dark fruit. Whiskey. Chocolate. Head dissipates immediately. Pours thinner than I’d expect. Cola brown. F: up front dark fruit, then chocolate and whiskey. Tail end fudge and vanilla. Little oak and dry way back. Lot going on here!

The only thing that would be more perfect is Utopias itself. Barrel aged perfection personified. 5 is not enough on this one.

Nose of chocolate, fig, oak, vanilla and raisins, the nose comes through on the palate with a little hit of heat from alcohol. This one will only improve with age.

Lives up to what’s printed on the bottle-it is complex. Sweetness blends with boozy and toasted flavors.
