Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, we've now taken this Dogfish Head classic and aged it on oak with real vanilla beans! With a little tender love and care we foster this beer from smooth, sweet wort into the big, bad blackend stout it always longed to be. Its bold, port-like complexity goes great with (or as) dessert.

Been wanting to try this for awhile. It's SO boozy. Don't taste much vanilla. It's good though. But isn't as good as I might've hoped it would be. Booze bomb

There's a lot of vanilla and oak. The oak lingers. Not terribly bitter but definitely a stout. I think it has mellowed in a positive way!

Super high heat and sweet on this. Needed aging. Oak and vanilla present. Not for me

It was hot but good. My bottle was from 2017. I could see letting it wait another year or two to mellow. Still good 4 years later.

Only can be taken a sip at a time, vanilla and chocolate-y flavors come through with am obvious alcohol presence. Gets extra points for ability to get beer flavors to work at such a high ABV and overall uniqueness because of that. A *very* strong drink.

BSBS -- #3 -- the vanilla was on target with this one, just the right amount

Back to liking it. Not as good as most treehouse stouts but pretty darn good. Aged five years.

Wow! Big and boozy up front. That’s where the oak is too. Vanilla and some raisin follow with a creamy but still boozy finish. 2018.
