yet to try sam adam’s 28% utopias, but this was aged in utopias barrels.. and it’s BOOZY!! drinks like it is 17% for sure. very boozy, heavy raisin notes - which i’d expect from a beer of this magnitude/barrel age

Very heavy on the palate, but once you get enough sips in and can appreciate what it actually is, it’s very good. A literal TIPA/Barleywine Hybrid. Expensive, but I’m glad I experienced it. I’ll age the rest

Enjoyed this heavy hitter last night that I received as a gift for officiating my first (and probably only) wedding. Cheers Kailey and Taylor! The beer was fantastic even if it took me 3 hours to drink!

12oz bottle. Repeat. Mellow mixed barrel and surprisingly muted hop character in this bottle (though it is almost 15 months old now). It’s smooth but not aging as well as expected. One or two more left.

It’s like a hoppy whiskey/bourbon without the bite. It’s a sipper but drinkable too even at 17%abv. I dig it.
