Liquid Amalgam

IPA - Farmhouse

Liquid Amalgam brings together 2 of our favorite beer styles - IPA's and wood-aged sour beer. We started with a Hazy IPA brewed with pilsener malt, wheat and naked oats and abundantly dryhopped with Pacific Northwest Sabro hops. Then we blended in just a touch of wild ale that had been aged in French oak barrels for 3 years for a touch of wood character, some added complexity and a subtle tartness.

I like this one. Very lightly sour, but nicely woody.

Perhaps the mix of styles on their own would be good but no thanks to the mix.

A nice and light oat-based foundation with some subtle green resin and a mild tartness.

I really don’t know what Farmhouse means. Should stop ordering it.

5.1% farmhouse IPA...starts with hazy IPA brewed w/Pils malt, wheat, and naked oats, DH’d w/Pacific NW Sabro, then blended w/wild ale aged in French oak for 3 years, adding wood character, complexity, and touch of tartness. Great nose. Fun beer!
