120 Minute IPA (2017)

IPA - Imperial / Double

Clocking in at 15-20% ABV, 120 Minute IPA is continuously hopped with a copious amount of high-alpha American hops throughout the boil and whirlpool, and then dry-hopped with another pallet of hops. Unfiltered and abundently hoppy, it's the Holy Grail for hopheads! We brew 120 Minute IPA a few times a year, but it goes fast. If you find some grab a few bottles -- some to enjoy and some to age.

Oldest one I could find… this one definitely benefits from aging. Rich, bold malt prevails over the aggressive hops, but just barely. And thus, balance is achieved…

Still good - probably needs to be drunk soon. Super sweet and malty.

Last of the four pack from the cellar. Figgy, toffee, holding glass fairly well. Abv is fairly in control.

#2. Interesting to see the differences in the vintages… check out the colors L—>R. (08, 17, 19, 20… wish we had something in the early 2010-13s).

Checked in 2017 aged, 2014 aged and the 2022. The 2017 was my second favorite and 22 took the win.

Most of the pine and citrus bitterness has faded and leaves behind a predominantly burnt caramel sweetness. This beer is probably best with 1-3 years of age. Also showing off my new glassware from Pretentious Glassware Co.!

After ≈ 5 years of cellaring the booziness is still there, but the flavor have really mellowed. That's unfortunate because I like my IPAs violently hoppy. Still good.

Getting very close to becoming barley wine. Interesting and enjoyable. The picture is a kill shot from last night, minus the Pilsners and restraint.

Apples. Reminds me of their Barleywine. I’m not mad at it. Sweetness, little carb left. Not cloying at all. Ultra weird brown though. Still a slight burn on the finish. Def a supper. Wowza!!!!! 4.15

Faded some. I wouldn't want to risk their claim of aging it for a decade, but it's still enjoyable at 6 years.

Actually had a customer bring this one in to me who has had it laid down since 2017, ….I’ve had other years and this is right in line with the usual profile. Hoppy for sure and all the booze you expect

Six years on, it's starting to lag a bit. Great bitterness and pleasant warming with a woody character, but there's also a muddy malt aspect. Not as clean or crisp as it used to be.
