Wortel Portal

Brown Ale - Other

Working with our culinary team, we sourced local organic carrots and local raw honey and roasted them tossed in beautiful, equitably sourced spices from around the world to flavor this Belgian inspired brown ale. Brewed from malt grown and produced in tiny batches in Pennsylvania we created a rustic, toasty, caramel accented base to carry layers of roasted carrot, honey and the earthy spice notes of blue turmeric, cardamom and cumin accented by a distinctive Belgian yeast strain. Wortel is the Dutch word for carrot and the portal is how we get those yummy veggies into our belly.

Seems like just a tasty brown ale. Maybe the carrots would be more obvious in a larger vessel.

Not your typical brown ale. Funky spice profile made for a better brew. Not sure I'd want a full pint though.

A-Lot going on here, odd back end. Carrots get hidden by the spice
