Fermentation Engastration

Farmhouse Ale - Other

Fermentation Engastration draws inspiration from a collection of complex fermented beverages – a rose-scented sake, a Mid-Atlantic honey and date mead, a bittersweet hard cider, a fruity Muscat wine and a rustic farmhouse ale. The result? One eccentric, incomparable beverage that can only be described as the “Turducken” of the beer world. On the nose, this brewing innovation is bursting with classic spicy phenols, while the tasting experience packs an explosion of fruit character balanced by a slight sweetness. Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Gastro Obscura.

Sweet, smooth, super malt forward and loads of esters. Everything I would normally expect from a fine Belgian quad. [sip]

Rare pour at Tee's for the 4th from the Dogfish Head Brewery. Good save. Good pour. Good company. Apple juice. Muscat grapes. Faint oak. Deeper rice flavors. Rice syrup. Yeast. Barley and wheats. Sweet and dry. Sweet with the dates. Dry rice. White wine.

The most unique beer I’ve had in ages. Mead and sake tastes rid on top of a smooth ale with Belgian banana qualities. I’d love to taste this as it aged.

This is a lot; dry notes melding with thick mead flavors. A heavy hitter at 10%, it's a sweet, fruity experience with afternotes of dry saison.

Belgiany aroma: fruity and spicy. Clear golden color, thin white head. Sweet honey flavor with floral notes and a bit of spice. Resembles a tripel.
