Punkin Ale (2022)

Pumpkin / Yam Beer

A full-bodied brown ale with smooth hints of pumpkin and brown sugar. We brew our Punkin Ale with pumpkin meat, brown sugar and spices. As the season cools, this is the perfect beer to warm up with.

7% and really quite light (medium copper) for a “brown ale”. SUPER aromatic, more pumpkin spice than I remember. Robust, full-flavored to balance out the sticky sweetness. Pumpkin spice more intense than others but well integrated

(1/23 BBD) 7%. Brown ale w/pumpkin meat, brown sugar, spices. Toasty, bready, malty, subtle pumpkin, spiced, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg. Mellow brown sugar sweetness followed by earthy, spicy&light bitterness. Relatively clean crisp finish.

FTOD; good nose but body a little heavy/musty, bit too sweet (bb 8/1/24).

A good pumpkin beer. Very nice sweetness, not a lot of spices and funk. Solid and fairly crisp, though

The autumnal benchmark seems to be lowering. It's still great, but seems to have lost that backend smoothness that left a twinkle in your eye. Still love ya Dogfish!
