KBS Spicy Chocolate Pyles

Not really doing it for me for the price. The spice is pretty mild and I’m not getting much barrel from it. Not bad, but not my favorite KBS.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio Pyles

Cherry juice red with creamy pink head. Funky nose, like acidic darkroom chemicals. A bit tart but not as much as I expected. A little grainy, salty mouthfeel, and mouth coating. Has higher sweet, fruity notes and deeper fermented dark cherry notes.

120 Minute IPA (2020) Pyles

2 years old this month. Orange peel, grass, and malt aroma. Soft w/ a dry finish. Notes of sweet/tangy citrus hops, raisin, prune, cognac, orange peel. Smooth. A nice, slow sipper. Noticeable sediment in this bottle.

Panther Cub Pyles

Thin tan head. Vanilla & bourbon on nose. Bright, tasty vanilla dominates, with mild notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, maple syrup, and toast. Very smooth with a lighter medium body for the style.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Pyles

Cocoa on nose. Creamy espresso crema head. Medium body, a little oily and mouth-coating. Notes of cocoa, chocolate malt, coffee, vanilla. Not picking up the oak on this one, and just the slighest touch of bourbon. Not my fave KBS variant, but good.

Underground Mountain Brown Pyles

Creamy tan head. Strong cocoa aroma. Crisp coffee flavor dominates, followed by sweet, nutty, and roasted malts, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Only the slightest hint of bourbon. Body on the light end for the style with a bit of lactose on the mouth.

120 Minute IPA (2020) Pyles

Orange/light-umber with the thinnest eggshell head. Medium-light body, & mouthcoating. Hop-profile way more mild than I expected. Nicely balanced w/ delicate notes of tangerine, agave nectar, grapefruit, and brandy. Warming alcohol, but not harsh.
