Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2016) 11.9%

My last from this 6-pack, and it’s been good! This bottle is less lively than the one I had 6 months ago. Head died quickly. Nose is wonderful coffee and cacao. Palate follows, with some wood. Not much bourbon until the finish, but this is delish.

Black Buffalo (Barrel Aged Buffalo Trace)

Nose of umami and burnt malts as it opens. Smells like an aged beer that handled the age very well. Bourbon is subsumed within a general warm booziness, hints of anise in the finish. Very tasty. Slightest herbal Jäger quality.

The Idaho 7 IPA

Nose of mild florals and slight tropical fruit, a sort of sweetish pineapple. Taste follows, very mellow and tasty, and nice session-starter.

Riesling People

Wish there was a way to know dates before ordering online, because this NEIPA is from 2019. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Decent head. Nose is mellow fruity hops with distinct Riesling. Taste follows, even more grape and slightly vinous. Tasty, but hops are diminished a lot.

Marvelroast (2020)

Cold from the fridge this smelled like cream soda with hints of coffee, but the coffee comes out stronger quickly, and it’s beany and lovely. Was skeptical of this beer but it’s pretty enjoyable.

Heated Seats

Lunch beer! Really tasty pale: mildly fruity nose (stone fruit, hints of tropicals), a softer than expected mouthfeel, and a nice flavorful finish.

Side Eyes

Gorgeous pour, gorgeous nose, but this is a slightly soapy malt bomb on the palate. Date on cap suggests this is 5 months old, as was the Amager I had last night. This is drinkable, and there are still some nice hops in it, but lackluster.

Spontanpassionfruit

Super cheesy nose, hints of stone fruit. Taste is big lush passion fruit, balanced, sour but with ample fruits, and a heavy body. Malts are discernible, too. Mouthwatering, great.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2020)

Short-lived head, minimal carb in glass. Super jammy nose and palate, hints of funk but a nice young fruity bottle. Hasn’t developed much funk yet and so is nice and refreshing if less complex.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2019)

Incredible nose: waxy cherry skin, funk. Taste follows, with more of a funky than fruity tartness. Always a great.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020)

Huge coffee nose, palate is also heavily coffee with hints of dark chocolate and barrel wood. Nice. Booziness is a little too on the nose this fresh.
