Definitely make malty for me, but that may be the age (March cannng) more than anything. Dogfish still needs to work on their haze game, but I like that they're trying

Little malty, but balanced enough. Flavorful for the abv. Juicy, but not complex

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Montgomery

Rich chocolate and maple balance nicely with the roasty coffee on the backside. A couple years has smoothed this out nicely, although it remains a little light on the bourbon barrel vibez. Dig the body...and at "just" 11%!

Nitro Rübæus Montgomery

Sqeet raspberry vanilla cream with just a touch of tartness. Dangerously smooth and drinkable on nitro. Bordeline beer, but it's delicious

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Montgomery

Fudge forward. Not overly sweet though - despite the maple - and there's some subtle barrel showing through. Also a bit of funky glass vibes, so guess my storage coulda been better. Solidly done, east 4.25

Roasty chocolate, a touch of chocolate, and some nice maple. Really smooth at 3 years and definitely not too sweet. Light on the barrel but a nice body. Almost 4.5

Aging really well with a way better barrel/maple balance than it had fresh. There's still some nice maple, particularly late, and also a bit of dark chocolate. Any coffee has faded, but it still has a solid body with a creamy finish

KBS Espresso (2020) Montgomery

Roasty dark chocolate and robust coffee with some pleasant booziness & bitterness late. Barrel is present, but subtle and the body is full but not super full. Takes a bit, but I dig the subtle sweetness. Almost 4.5

2019 version. Definitely closer to KBS with some maple than previous years - which were largely maple syrup with some KBS mixed in. Little off-putting bitter barrel late, but generally tastefully & well done

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Montgomery

Mellowed nicely @21 Months. The chocolate/bourbon balance is well done - and there’s plenty of it. Medium bodied, not overly sweet, a damn good beer

Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020) Montgomery

Lots of Utopias. Thinner than I’d expect for the abv & it feels like less of a stout than a strong ale. Boozy, but very solid. Thanks Nick
