French Toast Bastard Berg

It’s like nothing I’ve tasted in years. Loads of maple, bourbon and vanilla flavors. Very light cinnamon. Some roasted dry notes deeper into the glass. Smooth and boozy at the same time. I’m confused.

Around the Bend Berg

Aroma: Fruity and dank. Big herbal, grassy, piney notes. Taste: Fruity and herbal. Citrus, pineapple, apricot. Dank and juicy. Pretty light.

Good Morning, Vietnam Berg

The head disappeared in an instant. Aroma: Really nice smell of tart coffee, roasted malts and sweetness. Taste: First really smooth with a lot of coffee quite a lot of sweetness. Chocolate. Bitter notes in the aftertaste.

#12 DIPA Berg

Aroma: Reminds me a of old school IPA’s a bit. Didn’t expect that. Marmalade, grapefruit, stone fruits. Taste: Marmalade, grapefruit, brown sugar. Juicy. Sweet. Hmm…I don’t know.

Aroma: Smells nice. Subtle citrus, stone fruit aroma. Taste: A mixture of mango, pineapple, peach, sweet citrus in a sweet malt base. Obviously this beer needs strength and sweetness. Litte Doink and Doink was dissapointing, this one is good. The original

Aroma: Subtle citrus, stone fruit aroma with a small hint of alcohol. Taste: Sweet fruits in a sugary base. Juicy feeling. The alcohol is hidden in the taste. Perfect beer if I want to get drunk.

Little Doink Berg

Really fresh. 2 weeks in the can. Aroma: Hoppy! Citrus (lemon, lime, orange), mango, berries. Taste: Very thin, but it was expected (only 4% ABV). Mostly citrus, some stone fruits up front. Some malt at the back end.

Doink Berg

Super fresh. Canned 1,5 weeks ago. Aroma: Citrus (lemon, lime), some stone fruits. Some herbs. Taste: Lemon/lime, mango, pine, malts. There’s also some kind of alcohol/sanitizer thing that’s not so pleasant. I had higher hopes for this one!

Kærlighed Spring/Summer 2023 Berg

Aroma: Slightly tart, soapy aroma. Some fruits. Very light! Taste: A touch of bitter oldschool hops. Slightly earthy and bitter. Floral. Watery. This series of beers used to be very nice. If this was the only hoppy beer at the party I would drink it.

I haven’t tried this beer in a long time. Aroma: Roasted malts, coffee, some booz. Taste: Coffee dominates, wich I like. Roasty and very light bodied. Fairly smooth but too watery. Just as I remember it.

Just the One HBC586 Berg

Aroma: A lot of differents fruits. Slightly herbal and floral. Taste: Juicy fruits, mostly tropical. Sweet lemon. A fairly big herbal/floral note. I think it’s equally good as the simcoe version.

Aroma: Tropical. Taste: Citrus, mango, peach, grass, pine. Enjoyable.

Just the One - Cascade Berg

Aroma: Timid. Some citrus. Taste: Grapefruit without the bitterness, a big floral note, some pineapple. Interesting single hop series!

Just the One - Amarillo Berg

Aroma: Mild. Citrus (blood orange, lemon zest) Might be some malts as well. Taste: Sweet blood orange. Malts/wort. Mild. No bitterness. One dimensional as many single hop beers are.

Just the One Simcoe Berg

Aroma: Surprisingly tropical. Quite bright citrusy and stone fruity aromas. Taste: Bright citrus. Some stone fruits and pine. I liked this version better than the amarillo.

Malaphor Berg

Aroma: Timid. Fruity but at the same time slightly caramelly. Taste: Citrus, pineapple, mango. Slightly bitter with a green piney touch. I liked it!

Aroma: Timid. Citrus. Somewhat earthy and piney. Taste: Citrus (lemon, orange), some stone fruits. Slightly earthy, piney, herbal and bitter.

Backwoods Bastard (2022) Berg

Aroma: Somewhat light bourbon. Sweet dried fruits. Taste: A lovely balance between the bourbon/boozy side with the dried fruits and caramel side. So smooth! Dangerous!

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022) Berg

Long time no see. Aroma: Bourbon, oak, chocolate. Taste: Roasty, oaky. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate. Bitter. Don’t get that much coffee. Considering the bourbon and ABV it’s smooth. It dries out a bit. It would need something that pulls everything together

Kaerlighed Fall/Winter 2022 Berg

Aroma: Smells a bit Belgian. Slightly fruity. I don't get much more. Taste: Light and quite tasteless. Watery. Some malts, berries and a yeasty note. Worst k:rlek ever? Dissapointed! Taste like an alcohol free beer. Then it would have been ok.

Radial Berg

Aroma: Timid. Tiny hints of fruit, pine and herbs. Taste: Juicy, soft, smooth. Quite green, piney, herbal. There are some tropical notes behind. Pretty good.

Hyperspaceghost Berg

Aroma: Fruity, herbal, piney. Taste: Juicy. Citrus, a lot of pine/herbs/spice together with mango and pineapple. Somewhat bitter ending.

Aroma: Slightly timid. Fruity. A green fruity note that I identify as papaya. Mango, citrus. Taste: Juicy. A bit thin flavorwise. Citrus, lemon peel, stone fruits, pineapple. Hints of blueberries. Easy drinking.

K:rlek Höst/Vinter 2021/2022 Berg

Aroma: Like a sour fruity note. Taste: This one must be the worst version of k:rlek so far. I rather drink one of mikkeller’s alcohol free beers. It’s quite tasteless, mostly malty with a tiny slightly tart fruit flavor.

Flex Extremity Berg

Aroma: Stone fruits and citrus. Hints of strawberries. Taste: Light citrus and stone fruit, herbal, piney, earthy. Soft, juicy. Some bitterness coming through.

Kosmisch Berg

Aroma: Malty like high quality lager. Citrusy, floral. Taste: Quite citrusy! It’s more obvious in the taste that it’s not a lager, but it is malty. Clean, refreshing. Slightly vinous.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Berg

Aroma: Bourbon and fudge. Caramel. Taste: Smooth, vanilla, marshmallows, bitter dark chocolate and coffee, bourbon alcohol warmth and taste. Sweet. Really nice mouthfeel. This beer is all it say it is.

Ampersand: Mosaic Berg

Aroma: Papaya, herbs, mango. Floral. Taste: Juicy! Mango, citrus, papaya, herbs, pine. Tasty! Needs at least one more hop to fly higher.

Ampersand: Citra Berg

Aroma: Surprisingly similar to the mosaic version. Mango, herbs, papaya, citrus. Taste: Bright citrus, mild mango. Some grapefruit in the back end. There is a difference in taste obviously. Juicy! I think I prefer the citra version over the mosaic.

K:rlek Vår/Sommar (2021) Berg

Aroma: Citrus peel, pineapple, pine, mango. Taste: Light citrus, slightly fruity but very thin and watery. Less hop character than usually. Good thirst quencher.

Mosaic Promise Berg

Revisit. Light but refreshing. Mango, citrus, grapefruit, pine, berries.

Metamorfose Berg

Aroma: Subtle but I get passion fruit, grape, stone fruits. Taste: Juicy and super smooth! Grape, citrus, stone fruits. A bit grassy. Another great collab!

Vapeur Berg

2nd review [About 5 weeks old can] Aroma: Grape/gooseberry, citrus, stone fruits. Taste: Juicy, soft, smooth. Citrus, grape, gooseberries, stone fruits. Not that oat and wheat forward as I thought last time. Lovely beer!

Imperial Stout (2019) Berg

[Bottled on 11.05.19] A very roasty aroma with caramel/toffee sweetness. Taste: Smooth, creamy and silky. Loads of chocolate and toffee. Hints of dark dried fruits. What a great imperial stout!

Marvelroast (2020) Berg

Aroma: Sweet vanilla, pastry. If I closed my eyes I probably would think this was a pastry stout. Taste: Pretty much the same as the aroma. Very sweet iced coffee.

K:rlek Höst/Vinter (2020) Berg

Aroma: Citrus, herbs, papaya, rye, pine. Taste: Very light flavors! Same as the aroma, but very very light flavors. A bit too light really. Quite watery, but refreshing.
