Kriek Mariage Parfait (2017) Rudman

Two and a half years on and it’s past it’s best I think. Nose funky, almost compost. Lots of cherries and red fruit but the marzipan is becoming more dominate. Palate sour and very funky. Quite refreshing. A little astringency. Red fruit finish.

Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek (2019) Rudman

Really intense cherry and marzipan nose but just falls away on the palate. Quite a bitter beer, with faint cherry and some light sourness. Almost tannic. Faint marzipan on the finish. Unbalanced.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2016) Rudman

This is lovely at eight or so years. Nose of green apple, a little stone fruit, perhaps just mild oxidation. Quite tart which runs through the finish. A little oaky character, vanilla, apricot and cream.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2015) Rudman

Interesting to try but a bit past it’s prime. Nose wonderfully funky, oak/woody character, nectarine, mild spice. Woody on the palate with great tartness, apricot. A bit tannic. Finishes short.

Kriek Mariage Parfait (2017) Rudman

Super rich cherry nose, a slightly jammy note. A tonne of funk. A little brett and a little marzipan. Sourness is there but not prominent. Finish is dry with cherries and a raspberry jam character, slight spritz. Very good beer.

Green Zebra Rudman

Absolutely phenomenal on a warm Melbourne afternoon. Watermelon is prominent and adds a distinct juiciness and slight sweetness which is balanced out by the slightly tart and slightly tangy note to it. The salt comes through subtly but discernibly.

Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek Boon (2018) Rudman

Phenomenal carbonation. Big cherry punch with some cinnamon and light vanilla oak character. Just a hint of marzipan comes through. Sourness is very refreshing. Not acidic at all. Rich cherry finish. Very well made beer.
