World Wide Stout (2023) Rykken

Big ABV heat on the tongue. Loads of roasted malt. This is old school big stout, but is missing some of the flavors in newer recipes.

KBS Blueberry Rykken

Not terrible, but not great. The base KBS is missing the roasted coffee notes. The flavor is a subtle roasted malt with a strong tartness from the blueberry.

Sweet Repute Rykken

Very good wheat wine. Less sweet, but good barrel notes and maple is amazing. This is so well balanced that the ABV is not noticeable.

Chocolate Cherry KBS Rykken

The base KBS is noticeable up front. A decent chocolate note is present. I have trouble finding the cherry, but it’s subtle on the back end.

French Toast Bastard (Barrel Aged Series 2022) Rykken

Years ago, this was a 4.5, but now it’s 4.75. Compared to other French toast beers, this is amazingly accurate. Close your eyes and you might swear it’s actual French Toast.

Frootwood (2022) Rykken

Nice cherry up front followed by a smooth sweet maple barrel aged note.

KBS Hazelnut Rykken

Good nuttiness addition; however, the base beer is better without it. So far, the Mackinac Fudge is the best variant by far.

Frootwood Rykken

Surprisingly smooth with a nice easy drinking cherry note. Not much barrel aged notes.

French Toast Bastard Rykken

So good, great liquid French toast. The smell is perfect buttery cinnamon French toast. The taste is perfect roasted malts and maple. I enjoy this very much!

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Rykken

The cinnamon dominates, not much cocoa and almost no vanilla. That said, it is fairly balanced with the coffee bourbon base. The variant is ok, but not as good as the great original. Maple mackinac fudge variant is the best!

120 Minute IPA (2019) Rykken

Strong, sweet, and hoppy. The hops are muted by the strength, but it’s good. The appearance is darker IPA hues.

Panther Cub Rykken

This is very smooth. There is barrel oaky and roasted notes. The dominant flavors are vanilla with the additional sweetness of the maple. It’s not overly sweet due from the barreling.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Rykken

Soooo good! Traditional KBS with added maple and chocolate flavors. Fits right in between KBS and CBS.

Big Lushious Rykken

A mix of flavors. Small sip is mostly sweet cherry. A larger taste has more roasted malts and tart cherry notes. Good overall.
