Fresh juicy cherries, a bit of guava/prickly pear. Delightfully tart, keeps you going for more.

Yay tart, fruit juice, finishes with oak woodiness. Good body and appetising, not that funky. I could probably drink this for a long time if I had access to it.

Grassy, dry, malty finish. Carbonation helps the finish from being overly flat.

A lot of cacao, some bourbon, but I’m not getting much of anything else. Appreciate that it doesn’t get too sweet as it warms. Good but I expected more from this.

LCI, 2016 bottle courtesy of Charlie. Some yuzu left on the nose but tastes more like hoisin sauce.

LCI from no label event. Loads of honey, light bitterness in finish. Body lacking for me. Taste profile also relatively bland compared to stated hops.

Rich body, slow warming sipper. Booziness only emerges at the end, sweet decadence in the nose and on palate. Vanilla, some dark chocolate. Remarkable for how unremarkable it tastes for an 18% beer, if that even makes sense...

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020)
Liquid dessert, dark and smooth. Sweet, bottle serving was just nice, don't think I could have drank more. ABV was hidden but did creep on me. Bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, maple. Not overly complex but super well-blended, maybe due to unintentional aging.

Unlike the name of the brewery, this was juicy sweet. Tasted like kombucha and did have some passionfruit and strawberry notes, except that this wasn't tart at all. LCI

Also LCI. More interesting than the Strata in terms of taste. Very floral, not much juiciness or hop bitterness. Finish is chrysanthemum tea-like bitterness. Also LCI

Caramel. Very smooth. Dryness balanced by malt. Finishes very sweet but the ABV still warms. Great intro to Barlestone.

More pineapple and artificial mango as it warms. Finish very short, the taste suddenly drops off. Some tea-like quality to this. Doesn't feel like 9% at all.

Not that funky or sour, closer to cherry juice. Would have liked it funkier and tarter.

Pine and resin in the nose, tea-like bitterness on the palate and finish. Very light, quite tasty, but rather far from the NEIPAs I've come to know. Dryness subtle, some goji berries?

Thick body for a porter, creamy and roasty. Light soy saltiness near the end?

Vanilla, bourbon. A lot less sweet when warm. Quite watery. Prefer this cold.
