Because what else am I going to do while doing taxes? Good strong, but smooth, coffee. Bourbon chocolate truffle.

Vanilla ice cream in a bourbon coffee. Not a ton of bluebs, which is ok.

Great nose, tropical, juicy, just a bit of herbal dankness. Body is a little thin, but really great first IPA here at the Hopellers and Propellers.

Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout
Oak, sweet vanilla, leather, tobacco. Strong, rich, and thick—just how I like em.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020)
Sweet thick fudge, maple, coffee cuts through the cloying syrup.

Lots of chocolate, a little chocolate. Still that classic boozy coffee KBS flavor through the finish.

Apparently it’s International Stout Day, which is a made up day I’m good with. Lots of coffee up front, then all fudge, a hint of pecan bitterness, then maple syrup. Underlying barrel It’s rich and thick, how I like it. Thanks for the bottle Anthony D.!

Happy anniversary and new house, JJ! Fantastic aged. Bold sourness, well developed and rounded funk, closes with a candied sour cherry and a last punch of sour.

Raspberry jam right out of the gate and lasting approximately 9 days. Tequila barrel layers on the sweetness (dodging cloying!) and closes crisper, slightly herbal, and clean. Tequila edge lingers late.

Founders Old Fashioned Barley Wine
Massive sweet orange, heavy simple syrup flavor, bourbon barrel shows up after the sweetness drops. Lemondrop hops give a late showing to smooth everything out under a citrus note. Wanting the tart cherries to be bigger, but still a solid beer.

Smooooth porter base beer. Barrel wood is big up front, then mellows and blends well with vanilla and whiskey. Finishes slightly sweet, like little baby panther. Hey, that’s the name!

Underground Mountain Brown (2020)
Like a coffee chocolate truffle that was accidentally dropped into whiskey. Thanks, Anthony D.!

Underground Mountain Brown (2020)
Coffee is a touch green, but the barrel is spot on. This would be interesting to revisit in 3 months.

Breakfast beer to speed along the last day of the year. Goes well with homemade beignets.

Lighter in body than 2016, barrel seems more neutral or 2nd use than other BAs. A little spice, nice earthiness.

After 7 years, most of the bourbon has become general sweetness. Still supple and smooth.

Faint raspberry on the nose, ribbon of barny funk. Bite of raspberry seed. Big tart sour flavor. Jammy raspberry with a wild edge. Thanks james l.!
