Sang Bleu (2023) Ward

Big thanks to Lindo for getting me a glass before it kicked today. Magnificent aroma of dark stone fruit, drying sour fruity taste, but somehow also mouth watering. Great 3/4 way through the shift beer.

Beer Geek Breakfast Ward

Very strong flavored beer, but also very smooth feel to it. Coffee notes are light, this one may have some age on it.

Mango Magnifico Ward

Happy to see this one back, missed it 6 years ago. Sweet mango, just enough habanero for balance without being overpowering. Dont ask me why I get chocolate notes, it's not added. But I'm not complaining.

Continuing the DogFish Head beer & cheese journey, a well balanced clean czech pilsner and a sweet pepper cheese with cracked pepper.

Ultimate Oktoberfest Ward

A bit too much of the barrel for this palate.

Kriek Mariage Parfait (2014) Ward

Delightful kriek sour, cherries still jump out after 8 years in the bottle. Quality brewing. Faint oak notes.

Right Loose Ward

Pretty sour, very tart, dark berry fruit, though not sure I could have picked out blueberries in a blind test

BA transfer from 7/25/16. Dank, which is not my favorite word, strong and boozy, and quite sweet.

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label Ward

Very nice indeed. Quite oakey, and very dry. Getting some fruit. Very bubbly too.

Kvasir Ward

BA transfer from 02/10/16. DFH made the beer from a 3500 year old Danish drinking vessel. Herbal, fruity, weird, but tasty.

Noble Rot Ward

BA transfer from 6/7/19. Was likely over 5 years old at that point. Managed to be both dry and sweet, but a veritable grape bomb.

Positive Contact Ward

BA move from 6/7/19. Beer was 5 years old at that time. Strong cidery taste, and the witbier element added a saison feel to it. 9.0abv very apparent.

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne - VAT 79 Mono Blend Ward

Similar taste profile to recent geuze I've had. The difference here is the overall smooth blending and well nigh undetectable 9.0 abv. Brewed in 2011, bottled 2014. Lovely beer.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2012) Ward

Bit of a step up from the last few geuze. Light fruit additional, full in the mouth. Very drinkable. Flavors waft in and out

Oude Geuze Boon Ward

Will be exploring the wonderful world of Geuze Lambic a over the next couple weeks. This offering is of medium sourness, with prominent oak and dry spice notes.

After a excellent hazy, here's the original 4 Giants with a double shot of pine. Old school, and amazing. Glad I had them in this order.

Very nice indeed. All the features of a hazy ipa, very clean and bright drink.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021) Ward

Nice variant, cinnamon doesn't overwhelm, good bourbon burn on the back end. Hard to find the vanilla

Centennial IPA Ward

Toast another Hammers victory with an old favorite, aggressive in both hop and malt departments. Bob, saw you had this in the WOODMAN! 7.2abv

Pale Ale Ward

Likely an old bottle, no discernable hop bite, but a cold drink on a hot muggy night.

Nemesis (2021) Ward

Very aggressive. Even as an American style Barleywine, it's over the top bitter/roasty, really tastes more like a black ale/ipa.

Porter Ward

One of the benchmarks for widely available american porters. The roast is fleeting, nice sweet touch. Full bodied.

Panther Cub Ward

Back and forth on this one. From the description you would expect a sweet smooth booze, but a significant roast takes the sweet edge off. Might benefit from 6 more months in the bottle.

On tap at the wifi-less Little Brown Barrel this evening. A little sweet, slightly fruity, clean and easy drinking

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Ward

Superb beer. Strong aromas of coffee and chocolate fudge transfer to the flavor with maple syrup added. Light barrel aging. Abv hidden. Delicious sweet sipper with a delicate roast.
