Light touch of vanilla over a nice roasty porter - a little bittering coffee and hops at the end. Nice on a dreary MN “winter” night.

First line beer of the day. Waiting at Lakefront for black Friday.

I love the base, and this variant is very nicely done. Pure French toast with syrup on the nose, and a beautiful Wee Heavy with maple, vanilla, and a light touch of cinnamon that increases on warming. 2023 version.

Lots of good blueberry and chocolate. Barreling is very light. Overall a solid variant.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Dollar for dollar one of the finest stouts you will ever have.

Bottled 2015, and still drinking fiiine. Strong bitter coffee mellowing to chocolate. Mild tobacco notes. Excellent. Straight up imperial stout.

The name is perfect. Its a Belgian tripel … with a twist. The agave rounds it out a little dry and funky sweet. Really a nice rwist on the tripel. Very nice.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter P
Day 16. This cocktail-inspired brew is right on an old fashioned. Very well done and refreshing even at 11% ABV.

Nice and clean. A lot of orangey citrus with a light hop load. Not many kegs of this out of Michigan (at least for now). William S. (Ben) behind the bar.

Big malty extra strength Marzen. Barreling evident but not overpowering. A great take on a festbier.

Cantillon in the house. Very nice tart cherry with a little funk. Excellent. Never seen Cantillon on draft before.

Strong hazelnut and coffee. Mild barrel becomes more evident as it opens up. A decent variant, but not their best. Still very good.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) P
A beautiful base stout made very smooth by barrel aging in barrels that held perhaps the most complex beer/liqueur in the world. What could go wrong? Nothing, really.

Finally! The Pittsburgh Blue patio bar is open. And Rubaeus on the nitro. Life is good. Fear the deer. 🦌🦌
