Very rich color and flavors especially for the ABV. Nice tropical notes. Mango is a good note. Has a good tart to it also. Very glad to have tried.

Mumbo Jumbo #1: Passion Fruit, Guava, Raspberry K
Rich and thick. The passion fruit hits a lot of nice notes. Very forward though and not much/no raspberry for me. Some guava comes to light on the finish.

Currant is strong and crisp with a bite. Some blackberries to it as well which is nice. A lot more bold color than flavor but this hits a lot of good notes.

The nose is tough here but the flavors are solid. Not above and beyond but solid after the nose.

Learning a bit more and this style is generally not for me. Just a bit off for my preference but glad to have tried.

Rich and smooth. Nice citrus and some good hops and pine to it. This is nicely done again in a very cool place.

Fun find. This has some funk to it. Herbal, bitter, sulfuric is an interesting and not unpleasant note surprisingly. Glad to have come across this. Maybe not unique but close for a pilsner.

A bit sharp/harsh. Leans fruity tropical with some citrus rind too. This one is not quite for me.

Simply good beer is made here. A lot of fruit/citrus as (amusingly) described with grapefruit a nice note. Lighter carbonation and no heat make this a dangerous brew. Done well, yet again.

Also smooth with a hint of an extra kick to it on the finish. A little more nuanced for the style. A good marzen but a style that’s very homogeneous, nicely-so.

Second to TIPA season, a lovey time of year. Great color. Malty and sweet. Well-done and even better with pretzels. Where’s the mustard!

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne - VAT 91 Mono Blend K
Refined, nuanced and elegant. Nice geuze flavor with a subtle color and nose. Crisp, fruit and poignant yet bold thanks to the barrel I suspect. A nice way to start to wind down the trip.

Very dry and tasty. Has a good bite to it. Could be a bit more sweet for me but I prefer on the dry side overall and this is that.

Not a true faro from what I understand but has a nice sweet to it and fun to try the style for the second time (first in Belgium).Rich color and full-bodied. Keeping the ABV at 5% is impressive. Fun find and glad have tried. Cantillon said it best though.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2017) K
Tart, funky, crisp, acidic. All the great qualities of a nice gueuze. This is a lovely color and bold, yet inviting, flavors which want you to sip but also sip often. Fun find and glad to have tried.

Kriek Mariage Parfait (2020) K
Inviting nose and complex on the palate. There’s tart, acidic, bold, aggressive, funky all rolled into one. Not a lot of sweet to this - as intended from what I can surmise. Like a good Campari, I think this would continue to grow on me over time. Elegant

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2018-2019) K
A bit light on carbonation and more time in the bottle would likely do this good. Wish we could take it back and cellar it but the weight and space make it impossible. The taste is young but the flavor is, again, there. A lot of similarities.Side-by-side?

Elevated and elegant. Slightly hazy. Leans tart a hint more than sweet which may be the perfect balance. Very supple and nuanced which isn’t common for a kriek. Bravo to the brewmaster.

A lovely color with the raspberry. The fruit is a bit light for me but is still elegantly done. The finish is very nice.

That familiar amazing nose. Light tart/acidity with this young (one year) right-from-the-barrel offering. Too soon but a beautiful foundation on which to build. This will stay three years in a barrel before bottling.

The bottle-conditioned gueuze is excellent. So soft and supple. Great carbonation and less acidity as the mass-produced offerings too often have. Some melon flavors round out a lovely finish.

Oude Geuze Boon à L'Ancienne 2018 - 2019 K
Good rich color with a very nice rich acidic funk flavor true to the style. Like with most Belgian styles, you generally know what you’re going to get and this doesn’t disappoint. It is spot on and very enjoyable.

A bit off for me on the nose but leans more tart which is a plus. Love the color and solid all around.

More herbal yet good yard and nicely-flavored. Like this on nitro surprisingly. Has some pollens to it unexpectedly. More creamy too nicely.

Rich flavor and color. Another nice Dogfish Head and collab. A bit out of the ordinary but elevated flavors with a good ABV. Smooth, malty, spicy with vanilla notes and creamy as it should be. Very nice.

Dry, bold, astringent. Perfect time of year for this. Dark, rich, and not as hot as expected. Homogeneous unfortunately.

Good story for this to be on draft. Light carbonation and some funk to it in the lambic style. The flavors are captured well. Just a lighter color than I would have guessed.

Rich, musty nose dank with a lot of roasted and even charred malt. A touch of heat to this one and I like the bite. Fun find and an elevated barley. A nice sipper leaning a touch one note.

Another good and juicy NEIPA. More hops here than earlier and most. Smooth and well-made as Founders always does.

The maple comes through first and big. Fudge is also here on the finish. Refined and flavorful. This hits a lot of good notes. Still wonder about the bigger production and distribution but this is a solid brew and is one to seek out.

Nice fruit-forward here as raspberries dominate. Still a nice dark stout too. A touch light in ABV but not on flavor. Always solid from Founders!
