Chocolate Cherry KBS Donaldson

Light cherry and barrel age on the nose. Taste is light cherry, touch of cocoa, then barrel aged coffee dominates. Really good overall. Light sweetness mixes making it all taste nice. Light roast black coffee meets chocolate with a hint of cherry.

French Toast Bastard Donaldson

Cinnamon first, then breast/yeasty, then a touch of vanilla from the barrels. Maple syrup throughout. You can smell the maple syrup and cinnamon the moment you pop the top. Hint of coffee potentially but not much. Literally like French toast for breakfast

Mango Magnifico (2022) Donaldson

Malty mango touch of heat and then honey…. So malty though I couldn’t finish it. The malty/bready reminded me of a red oak.

Backwoods Bastard Donaldson

Delicious as always. Little more vanilla and bourbon on this batch bottled in February.

Dirty Bastard Donaldson

First scotch ale/wee heavy I’ve had and I’m under impressed. Love founders but just not my style at all. Malty start, then bitter…. It’s not harsh. It’s smooth but it’s just not what I enjoy.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Donaldson

Really complex something… a little brown sugar on the back end and the boozy bourbon is there but there is something else I can taste but I can’t figure out what it is… hint of orange zest.

Breakfast Stout Donaldson

Dark cocoa with coffee and touch of sweetness. Super smooth. Founders does it again

Super unique. Cherry forward followed by lulled out bourbon and vanilla. Good carbonation. Excellent and unique. Cherry lasts a long time while the mellow vanilla fades away. Delicious. Complex, enjoyable. No maple but maybe a lil sweet from it

Porter Donaldson

Probably one of the best porters I’ve had to date. Compares really well with the stout style I like. Dark, little sweet, coffee, just the right amount of carbonation and not too watered down.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Donaldson

Cinnamon forward, then sweet, then toasty then vanilla extract. A tad bitter on the back end. Definitely feel the alcohol.

Cinnamon not like spicy cinnamon but like a baking cinnamon, more vanilla, touch of coconut, bourbon barrel is there but just barely. Great addition

Backwoods Bastard Donaldson

A little malty then bourbon then caramel. Really really drinkable. I’m more of a stout guy but this is really good. Thinner and not as heavy as a stout but still tons of flavor. There is some other flavors in there but I’m not sure what they are.

KBS Donaldson

First intro to Founders Stouts and it was breathtaking. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon..... sweet.... so good. I’m trying everything Founders that’s dark now.
