Smooth. Caramel barrel. Fairly rich.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) R

Nice chocolate, approaching fudge, but more of a bitter chocolate note vs. the sweet you'd expect from fudge (though not a bitter note in the beer). Barrel is smooth, not too strong. KBS is always a solid brew.

Barrel nose, with a hint of caramel. A little astringent, some charcoal.

Blushing Monk (2015) R

Great raspberry flavor, a little sweet. Pretty solid, for a 2015.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) R

Nice, rich chocolate. A touch of coffee. Not much maple, but it's a well-balanced barrel-aged stout.
