Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Drunkface MD

From last night. Bottled two and a half years ago. I actually prefer this fresh, but this one got aged for a few for the hell of it. Last night seemed like as good of a night as any to break it out. Bourbon is dialed back quite a bit.

Green Zebra Mango Drunkface MD

From Saturday night hanging out with a bunch of old friends. This was an old beer eating up valuable space in my beer fridge, so it had to go. Seemed like as good a night as any. Not bad. Old, but the mango flavor was still there.

Green Zebra Peach Drunkface MD

From Saturday night. Hanging with a bunch of old friends chatting about all the shit we did as teenagers that we should probably be in jail for. This one had been sitting in the beer fridge for awhile, but still had a decent peach flavor.

About ready to head to Tailspin Ale Fest in a little bit and just remembered I have beers I haven’t checked in from this past week. I have a couple of these that have been in my fridge too long. Malty, mango and habanero are fading fast. Tons of sediment.

French Toast Bastard (Barrel Aged Series 2022) Drunkface MD

From Saturday night. Had this sitting for over a year and I don’t know why. Wasn’t really trying to age it, I just never got around to drinking it. Excellent beer! Better fresh. Loses some of the vanilla and cinnamon over time.

Velvet Rush (2021) Drunkface MD

2 year old bottle. I could’ve aged it longer, but fuck it. Last night felt like the right time to drink it. Brown ale aged in bourbon barrels with coffee, chocolate, vanilla and milk sugars. Probably why my stomach is fucked up today. Definitely worth it!

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022) Drunkface MD

From literally right now. This might be the first time in months that I’ve checked in a beer while actually drinking it. Goddamn this is amazing! That fudge comes through in spades. Bourbon is sweet and pretty much perfect. Chocolate, bourbon, vanilla!

Green Zebra Mango Drunkface MD

From last weekend. Definitely a pool beer at my father-in-law’s condo’s indoor pool. I was cracking my son and nieces up by doing stagedives into the pool, then acting drunk and stumbling into the pool, which then devolved into just doing belly flops.

From last week at some point. 2 and a half year old bottle. Excellent! Bourbon barrel aged porter with vanilla and maple syrup. Just absolutely kills!

Yesterday at Tailspin Ale Festival. Last beer of the day. Fuck it, finish strong with probably the strongest beer at the festival. Ridiculously huge at 15.3% ABV! As rich and thick as used motor oil. Chocolate, malty, maple syrup, coffee, and boozy.

From yesterday at Tailspin Ale Fest. This one caught me off guard. Sounded weird, so I had to try it. Like a mix between a golden ale and a tequila cocktail. Way better than expected! Blue Agave and citrus shit all up in this bitch!

From last weekend. Barrel aged scotch ale with maple syrup, cinnamon and vanilla. Yeah, a lot of flavor! Nailed the French toast aspect here. Bourbon kicks it all up a notch. Excellent!

From Saturday night. It’s amazing how often I come across common, mainstay beers that I know I’ve had a million times but somehow have not yet checked in to. This is one of those. A little earthy, a little citrusy, a bit dry but hoppy with a malty base.

4 Giants IPA (2021) Drunkface MD

Pretty standard DIPA. Not that that’s a bad thing. Big malty base with dank citrus hops. Actually kind of a sweetness behind all of it.

FLN. Haven’t had one of these in quite awhile. Possibly the best straightforward porter out there. Malty with strong chocolate and coffee notes. As far as the meme, in case you haven’t heard, Google “Ball Aluminum Cans Craft Beer”. We’re all screwed.

From last night. Citrusy hops bring a tropical fruity taste. Mango, pineapple and grapefruit. Milk sugar rounds this one out with a sweetness that cuts the hop bitterness down.

FLN. Absolutely fucking excellent! The fudge and maple certainly make themselves known. Bourbon and oak bringing up the backend on this one. Strong, rich and sweet. Split this and a few more beers with my brother last night, been feeling it today.

If you didn’t think a golden ale could be an imperial, think again. 8% ABV in what has to be the sweetest coffee vanilla beer ever created. Almost sickening sweet, which is something I’ve never said before. Basically a super sweet vanilla torte.
