Decent, although the more stuff like this I try, the more I think that not a lot of beer styles can hold up to this degree of barrel-aging. The usual malty character of an Oktoberfest is drowning in bourbon. (What a way to go that would be...)

QUARTER LIFE CRISIS - FOUNDERS 25TH ANNIVERSARY BEER F.

Flight 4/4. Lots of maple flavor in a package that's not as thick and forceful as it would have been in a stout. (Not that I've ever complained about thick and forceful.)

Tropical 4 Giants Hazy F.

Flight 3/4. I wish it hadn't been so long since I had the regular 4 Giants so I could compare, but I wanted to stick with beers that are only available in the taproom. Love the tropical fruit in this one.

Maibock F.

Flight 2/4. A lovely balance of everything you'd want in one of these.

Ales For ALS F.

Flight 1/4. Surprisingly light and delicate, with a hint of orange. After years of wanting to visit Founders, we're finally here, and lo, it is good.

60 Minute IPA F.

While it doesn't really stand out in any way, it's definitely a solid beer.

Mmmm, rotting fruit and sawdust. I had Cindy try it to see whether I was imagining things, and her facial expression was a sight to behold. What people see in this, I can't begin to imagine.

Nemesis (2021) F.

Good flavor up front, roasty character that seems atypical for a barleywine, surprisingly little staying power. Neither bad nor memorable.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) F.

This was my consolation prize for arriving at Wine, Beer, & Spirits too late to get a bottle of their Eagle Rare barrel pick. Woe is me. Great beer, though. Huge aroma that hits you from a mile away.
