2-Year Unblended Oude Lambiek S

The ageing has balanced that out nicely. Not got much sweetness which (for a lambic) works for me

Kriek Boon S

Keen for a new tick so went left field (for me) with a very fruity lambic. In fairness, liquid cherry with a bit of alcohol is way better than most of the ‘beers with a bit of cherry’ out there. Could see me having these in for TV nightcaps

Heated Seats S

Just about strong enough to make key-keg prices justifiable but no. Of course it’s better than the similarly priced ‘lager equivalent’ but both of the cask pales I’ve had here were infinitely better and way cheaper. Sad caskhead …

Partition S

Just missed out on the Bearded Iris and Mein Host suggested this as an alternative. Rare to have that level of service nowadays so good on him. And it ain’t bad at all.

Henry Hops S

That literally didn’t touch the sides. Makes little sense in a country with so many good cask pales (IMHO) but that certainly doesn’t make it bad. Very drinkable

Beer Geek Brunch Weasel S

Taking advantage of a wait for the bus home with my first visit to the Actor. Much as I embrace keg nowadays I still struggle with keg-only places a bit, but when the range is this good … an absurd drink for 2pm but it’s lovely

Beer Geek Fudgesicle S

Another day, another 12.30 12% impy stout - and we know what happened last time … This is gorgeous - unadulterated gorgeousness
