Shared ‘15 bottle. Smells of muddled berry & Belgian sugar; I would dare say it’s broke down some due to the sediment in the bottle. Tastes semi sweet of the raspberry element, still muddled but tasty, with Belgium sugar effervescence in tow. Really good.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) H.
Shared thick black pour. Smells of big maple, bourbon & a lot of chocolate. Tastes of maple, bourbon, vanilla & a roasty element, while chocolate comes more behind those flavors. Still love this one; can’t believe it’s been almost 2 years since I had it.

Orange pour. Smells more funky than fruity, but both qualities are there. Tastes of a big carbonated puck, while not even being that tart/sour. Mango with hints of vanilla & hop bitters. Needs more flavor. Drinkable though. Free from a local bearded fuck.

6oz dark brown pour. Smells of caramel & fresh malts. Tastes of dark fruit, roasted maltiness & a hefty amount of hoppiness I wasn’t expecting. Boozy presence on back, burn included. Not being a fan of barleywines, this one is quite solid & drinkable IMO

Golden pour. Smells of vanilla, coffee & chocolate. Tastes very sweet; I can’t tell if it’s as sweet as some of the other coffee-esque Founders brews but this seems like a dessert brew. Vanilla, coffee & coco as well, with a slight bitter end. Not bad.

Works been terrible, so why not have a swift kick in the dick to start my days off. Ruby pour. Smells sweet, like some sort of candy. Tastes thick & super sweet of berry & pear, with salt in the back. Liquified syrupy suckers. Solid & deceptive at 9.7%.

Shared amber pour. Smells sweet & boozy like honey & bourbon. Tastes of bourbon & maple, with the honey element really being molasses. Smooth but the boozy burn hits as you drink more. One of the last bottles I got back originally in ‘18. Great drinker.

No rating. This was an experiment, if you will. My buddy & I thought that mixing this brew and a CBS would turn out well, considering the maple is the common denominator here. It’s actually pretty good. The Mack’s fudge & CBS’ coffee builds on the bourbon

Bottled 12/11/13. Shared thick pour. Smells of booze, barley malt & a slight burnt roast aroma. Tastes of dark fruits, burnt malts & molasses/honey. 18% definitely burns as it goes down. Holds up pretty well for being 7 years old. Great for a non-BA stout

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) H.
Dark pour. The smell off this is wonderful; I get espresso, maple, and a dark chocolate fudge. This boi is thicc, but it’s not super sweet like one would imagine. Taste is fudge, roasty espresso, and maple, though different than CBS maple. A game changer.

Dark, thin brown pour. Smells big of malt, slight rye/barley & something that’s sweet. Taste is also big of caramel malts, with a hoppiness, while mild, hits unexpectedly. Starts sweet, then a little piney, then ends bitter. This base bastard’s not bad.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) H.
Fuck these “All aboard the Trump train” signs. I’m rolling on the Stout train tonight & it’s awesome. 2nd growler pour of this great stout & “Beetlejuice” equals a win in my book. Booze definitely hits more on this glass.

Founders seems to be releasing kegs of 2019’s version throughout the year. Maybe Covid pushed them to release these intended for a later release? Dark pour. Still smells of maple & bourbon. Tastes complex of the maple/bourbon/coffee/vanilla mix. Wonderful

Bidding farewell to my last bit of the Padre with a late breakfast sandwich. Alcohol more present since the growler lost a little of its luster but it’s still a great strong fruit beer.

Was lucky enough to get another cheap growler of this great brew. Dark reddish pour. Smells of raspberry/cherry with a mix of clove, slight tequila notes & booze. Taste is smooth, syrupy, lightly carbonated; slightly tart of dark fruit. Great boozy beer.

Shared dark thin pour. Smells of bourbon & chocolate, with some subtle coffee and maple notes. Tastes strongly of bourbon, vanilla, light coffee roast & slight chocolate malt. 11.9% gives this beer some umph in this Mountain offering. Damn good brown.

Dark red pour. Smells of raspberry, honey/clove & a slight boozy presence. Taste is smooth & sugary sweet of raspberry; tequila barreling gives this a nice hidden kick as it warms. Great fruited brew.

Shared dark red pour. Smells of sweet candies, raspberry/cherry, clove & a hint of the tequila? Taste is smooth; alcohol is hidden though I know it’s strong due to the tequila presence; sweet, sugary raspberry. Damn good Belgian-like. Better than B. Monk.

Reddish pour. Smells mainly of raspberry here. Taste is of a mild tartness; sweet raspberry syrup dominates here, with a light malt back to it. Crushable brew, especially if you want to get one in quick.

Dark pour. Smells way stronger of bitter, roasty coffee on draft, with a slight hint of the bourbon/vanilla notes. Taste is smooth at 12%, with hits of roasty coffee, chocolate, vanilla & bourbon all shining through. Coating of coffee in the mouth. Great!

Shared amber pour. Smells of bourbon, maple syrup & honey. Taste is big on maple & caramel, nice butterscotch back with big booze lingering at the end. Damn good brew.

Finishing off the growler. Dark amber pour. Smells of honey, bourbon, maple syrup, slightly of butterscotch. Taste has big maple/molasses & carmel notes, with the booze lingering at the end. Still smooth while hitting hard at 12.7%. Big beer? A’ite den.

What a nice unexpected surprised this was. Founders re-released more of their ‘18 stash (a week’s difference bc I have old bottles). Snagged a growler. Amber pour. Bourbon, honey, maple/molasses both in smell and taste. Smooth for 12.7% yet boozy af still

Pink/reddish pour. Smells a slight funk & raspberry. Taste is mildly tart; borderline thickly sweet raspberry and light malt profile. Crushable/smooth, solid ale that is great for a hot summer day.
