American barleywine past its prime. Beers like this get kind of a weak berry taste when the hop implodes. I’ll give it more time to warm up.

KBS Spicy Chocolate (2023) Eros
It has the essence KVS quality, especially the texture. I don’t get any spice (heat). If anything, it’s a bit bitter. I’ve had a lot of chocolate and a lot of mole. That’s not what I get here. Regular KBS is grand.

Haven’t had an American barleywine in a while. Still prefer English but this is tasty. Got this in Monterey last week at a liquor store with the “OU” in the sign burned out. A 4-pack for $11.99. Yes, please!

2019 vintage. Way too drinkable. Ducks beat the bucks at the ‘shoe. Cats win! Wolverines taking on the Huskies.

It’s not actually Olde Schoole, which I adore but haven’t had in years. This is home brewed Alf Garnett’s Cor Blimey English Barleywine. I brewed it in 2018 and this is the last bottle. Basically tasty, but flat as a flapjack.

I have to respect the quality and composition. This truly is the label. Huge raspberry, huge milk chocolate, smooth stout. You’d better like raspberry.

Extremely good. This bottle is very young. The espresso will open up over time. The texture is lovely. Founders’ stouts are consistent.

Love it. Never gets old. I like that it is becoming year round. There must be more caves in Michigan now.
