2017 bottle. Silky smooth and mellowing after 7 years of cellaring. Malty and slightly sweet, slightly fruity, nice acidity with rounded off roasted and bitter notes.

Bottle 2023-08-03, Batch 2216 6. Brown sugar, coffee, vanilla and cocoa powder on the nose with a hint of oak and leather. Rich and creamy, vanilla, honey, coffee and dark chocolate and cocoa powder. I have to get a bottle or two to age for a bit.

2017 Edition. Bitter and smoky and peaty, a somewhat dry, earthy with a hint of mushroom/ champignon. Smoke makes the body feel a little lighter than it probably is.

2017 bottle. Nose: vanilla, rye bread, alcohol, ashes. Taste: dark rum chocolates and brown sugar in arrival, nice acidity. Warming, but the sweetness has quieted down a tad, leaving room for roasted notes and lingering bitterness. Beautiful!
