Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) MacKay

Happy birthday to me! Bottled in 2021. Unbelievably smooth, lashings of chocolate and coffee with sweet bourbon barrel aged flavours. Hints of toasted oak. Just so good. Amazing beer

Backwoods Bastard 2021 MacKay

Warm, Smokey, barrel aged aromas. Sweet caramel malt. Quite thin but full bodied and a smooth balanced flavour. A really good beer

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022) MacKay

An absolutely sumptuous beer. So delicate in the mouth, you would never believe it was 12%. It starts with wonderful dark chocolate aromas and is backed up with a slight coffee flavour. Then the warmth of the bourbon barrel aging takes over. Excellent!

Eat Your Greens MacKay

Not quite how they described it. Not that hazy and really quite piney. It’s ok

Stedsegrøn / Evergreen MacKay

Weaker than I expected at 3.5%, make no mistake this is a light IPA. Not much haze to it so quite misleading. However, it is is actually quite refreshing and has a nice zip to it. More like a west coast IPA, it has lots of citrus lemon bitterness. It’s ok

Oude Geuze Boon (2018-2019) MacKay

A first lambic beer for me and have to say it is fascinating. Sour, tart fruit and real character behind it. Lovely body and colour with nice amount of carbonation. Slightly dry finish makes me think of bubbly white wine. Enjoyed sipping this one slowly
