Nose is a little yammy and lightly spicy. At first, it’s REAL heavy on the spices, cinnamon and clove. Second sip is a bit more pumpkin, less spicy. Further on, it continues to split between the two. It’s always one of the best, glad I found some.

Very dark, as always. Nose is vanilla, light blueberry, faint chocolate. Very syrupy, pretty healthy dose of blueberry up front, vanilla layered underneath. It’s a little sweet. The finish is dark chocolate, could use more there for balance. Still good.

Black as night, as always. Definite chocolate nose, maybe a little coffee. Get a nice bit of cherry up front, almost tastes like cherry candy. Surprisingly easy to drink vs other KBS, thinner body, not as boozy. Vanilla is toned down, dark cacao finish.

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Roman
Black as ever. Lots of dark chocolate and vanilla on the nose. Extremely chocolatey. Seems like it cuts a bit of the vanilla barrel character, lots dark chocolate. Also pretty mellow vs memory, way easy to sip and doesn’t have a booze punch. Always great.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020) Roman
Jet black but slightly brown color. Nose is booze, malt, chocolate. Rich as always. Pure chocolate. I feel like there’s usually some vanilla I don’t get here. A little sweet, but just milk chocolate. Finish goes forever. Super mellow. Always worth it

Aged maybe a few months. Hazy dark orange, nose is signature dogfish. High visc. The front is 90 minute, citrus, hop. The finish goes forever and ever. Just a slight alcohol burn at the end. Exceptional

Tons of vanilla on the nose, oak. Clearly barrel aged. Great dark red color. Very strong whiskey presence. Vanilla is soft, some wood, long finish. Outstanding beer. For 11%, the high alcohol content is masked nicely. Fantastic
