Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Mathews

I dont know what to think of this. Its boozy but not overwhelming. Its caramel y with a hint of raisin. Its not refreshing and not crushable, but also not a torture to drink. Sadly I will rate this lower as it is not a beer I want to come back to.

Breakfast Stout Mathews

Smelled much better then it tasted. Thin, bitter, shitty oatmeal stout. I feel an oatmeal stout is a waste of life and a way to rip money from consumers pockets by offering a dark beer year round. Absolute shit, but most oatmeal stouts are.

All Day Haze Mathews

Sucks, plain and simple. This beer has no flavor, just like drinking boozy stale water. Founders are clearly not experts in the haze game.

Breakfast Stout Mathews

Ofdly this is a beer that I have put on the back-burner for years. I always said I would get to it but would drink something else. Finally had it and could have kept picking something else lol. Bitter, thin, hit of coffee and chocolate.

Kriek 100% Lambic Mathews

Light, crisp, refreshing with a great tartness. I love how the kriek yeast mellows out the natural sourness of the fruit. A very cool alternative beer to people who like sours.

Green Zebra Mathews

Pretty decent. Has a stale after taste but that is the only complaint. Sour, tart, hint of watermelon.

Saint Lamvinus Mathews

Very nice. My first true Lambic. Drank like a sour ale but did not leave any of the “gut rot” that people complain about. Nice grape flavor that aided in a nice throat warming effect. Would like to try others but know these are hard to find in the US.

KBS Hazelnut Mathews

It was a decent stout in line with anything Founders makes. If you love hazelnut, which I don’t, you will love this beer. Way to rich, difficult for me to drink a 12oz bottle.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Mathews

As one would guess way too boozy. Once it warms up a while it still remains boozy but more of the chocolate and oak flavoring come out with plenty of booziness. Overall thin and not super tasty, grab something else.

KBS Espresso Mathews

If you like the standard KBS and coffee this one is a no brainer. I just wish this brewery wasn’t so racist….
