Saint Lamvinus (2023) Eerdekens
They still had some leftovers from Zwanze Dag. This one is nice and grapey/vinous with a low level of acidity and a bit of bitter dryness at the end.

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Eerdekens
Cherry and orange on the nose and then loads of caramel, some nuttiness and a bunch of dried fruit… which then ends in a nice long warm boozy bourbon finish. A great layered combination of autumnal flavours.

Pretty amped up brown ale: sweet creamy milk chocolate, lots of vanilla and a smooth but light bourbon finish. Scarily easy drinking.

Second time having this and this time it’s a bottle that has been aging and I must say I like it better then the first one I had. It has mellowed a bit and I don’t get the weird aftertaste from the last time. It’s still not great, but also not bad.

My last leftover of last year’s Mikkeller Advent Calendar. A good basic imperial stout that hits the dark chocolate and roasted coffee notes with a good sweet/bitter balance.

Holiday Ale From To (Til Fra via Mikkeller) Eerdekens
Another leftover from last year’s Mikkeller Advent Calendar. A bit thin, some chocolate, but mostly dark roasted coffee and bitterness for me.

A leftover from last year’s Mikkeler Advent Calendar. Like a Scandi version of Kasteelbier Rouge. Sweet and sour red fruit with a tangy and light bitter finish.

Neu Pilsner “Kaltgehopft” Eerdekens
Another leftover from the Milkeller Advent box. For a pilsner not bad… hoppy flavours while not too bitter. Guess this is a good as a pilsner will get for me.

Arrived in Spain for the first long holiday of the year. Still some leftovers in fridge from last year’s Mikkeller’s Advent Box. Bready malty start, but the bitterness takes over quickly. Doesn’t linger overly long.

Driving Home From X-mas Eerdekens
Quite OK for a NA beer, not too sweet and malty.

Santa's Hoppy Helpers Eerdekens
Mikkeller Advent day 19. This one keeps true to its name and is hoppy and bitter… so much so that it’s too much for my taste. First one of the box that I’m not going to finish.

Mikkeller XMAS Vienna Lager Classic Eerdekens
Mikkeller Advent day 9. A darker lager than I’m used to. Very malty and sweet start and a recognisable lager bitter finish.

Mikkeller Advent day 11. A malty sweetish bock with a bitter ending. Not bad, bit also nothing too special.

Frederiksdal Oude Kriek Barrel Finish Eerdekens
Mikkeller Advent day 24. Last day bottle of the box, but first bottle of the day. Happy xmas 🎄🎅. This one’s a collab with Boon. Very nice deep red color with a pinkish foam. Tart, fruity and woody/oaky.

Almost done cooking… time for beer nr.2. Mikkeler Advent day 12. Less bitter then I remember… or I’ve learned to appreciate it, but definitely a coffee stout and a good body for only 7,5%.

Mikkeler Advent day 21. Decent imperial stout, more leaning to coffee then chocolate, with some additional bitterness and a hint of earthy chili heat.

Day 15 of the Mikkeler Advent box… first one I’m actually tasting. It says witbier, but it has definitely more bitterness than expected for the style. It’s more of an IPA/wit crossover that works well with the salmon I’m eating.

Had a little left from making ‘stoofvlees’. Even at this age it’s still a good mix of sweet, sour and fruity.

And now something to balance out the lack of alcohol in the previous beer. This one is very recognisable as a Founders beer. It is a portee but the additions and barrel aging result in something more like a stout.

Más Agave Grapefruit Eerdekens
After a long Ship-IT day at work chilling with a good beer and a Belgian national football team match is the way to go. Foam disappears relatively quickly, lightly fruity smell, starts sweet, but follows with some sourness and saltiness. Very refreshing.

Underground Mountain Brown (2020) Eerdekens
Sweet, caramelly, nutty coffee with a good boozy hit.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Eerdekens
Pours a deep black with a thick tan persistent foam. Smell is predominantly fudge & coffee. Initial taste is chocolate & some sweetness, but not too sweet and it continues into a nice balancing bitterness. Finish is dry with alcohol warmth. Great sipper!

Oude Geuze Boon (2015-2016) Eerdekens
2nd time and my opinion remains the same: too sour and funky for my taste.

Not bad, but also not great. A light sour & salty fruitiness, but no real depth of flavour.

Frangelic Mountain Brown Eerdekens
The smell is full on hazelnut... the coffee part is only noticeable at the end. A bit thin texture wise.

HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend 2013 Eerdekens
Lightly funky, not too sour, smooth and mellow... great start for a beer/food pairing.
